Too funny, but too short for an except without totally copying the original post…

Wow. Over 2000 requests to post comments, and no actual comments got through. It’s a good thing I have a pants filter, or I’d be really sick of the intarwub right now.
Rogers is rolling out VoIP in the GTA. Rogers is the local cable monopoly, and they of course have a cable internet offering. It’s not clear if the service requires internet access or just a cable hookup. I’m not going to check, because I’m using every ounce of my strength to keep from phoning them to see if I can get Bell high speed internet on it.
Every ounce. Really. I actually have to call them about something else. I have to wait on that now until this urge passes.
This could take a while.
Yep.

OK, I just got my first spam with embedded audio, and I know we’re going to see a lot more of these.
I’m really torn about this. Spam and the resulting over-zealous filters have made email a less reliable mechanism for contacting someone, and phishing has made email useless as a contact medium between companies and consumers about important matters. Embedded audio is the most annoying thing yet, and might be the final nail in the coffin (at least until Mail.App has an option to turn the damn things off like they do images).
On the other hand, I want to send clips from moantones.com to all my friends. Maybe I could get away with it if I called it activism, spreading awareness of the problem, etc.
